History

Early Years

Not much is known about North Star Racing before their Formula One debut in 1977.

Entering F1 (1977-TBC)

In 1977, Sir Blake Clayton entered North Star Racing as a privateer from the United Kingdom. Using an old Lola T380 chassis powered by a Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0 V8, North Star was predicted to have a bad season. The driver lineup for the 1977 season was Harald Ertl, William Ferguson, and Gabriel Château, who were all pay drivers.

Leaving Top-Tier Racing (2001-2015)

At the end of the 2004 season, North Star Racing stopped racing altogether in the top-tier series's, opting instead for lower regional series. Some say that North Star ran out of funds, others say there was a fight between team members. North Star never gave a clear explanation saying why they left Top-Tier Racing.

Hiatus (2016-2018)

At the end of the 2015 season, North Star Racing and North Star Racing Group took a break from racing altogether. Citing low interest, Jack Clayton explained that it "wasn't worth the effort anymore," however also said that "North Star will enter racing again soon."

Returning to Racing (2019)

In 2019, along with North Star Racing Group, North Star returned to racing. Applying to many series, North Star Racing has currently got accepted onto the grid of AutoReject 3.5. North Star also plans to enter more series in the coming years.
