1976: Shadow

By 1976, Leclère was driving for the Shadow team alongside Welshman Tom Pryce, sharing the second car in a part season with Italian driver Arturo Merzario. Leclère's best result in the Shadow was a eighth place in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Deeming the 1976 season as a failure, Leclère returned to Formula Two the following year.

1978: Ligier

Leclére returned to Formula One in 1978 at the German Grand Prix with Ligier Gitanes replacing Anton Roche. Leclére was involved in a heavy accident with a spinning John Watson on lap one.
