Lola are a British automotive manufacturer and former Formula One constructor.
Lola are a well known chassis builder, having supplied cars in F1 in the mid-to-late 1970s for the likes of ATS, North Star Racing and F&S Properties as well as constructing cars for junior formulae - including the current FIA F2 World Championship chassis.
Formula One
Between 1997 and 1999, Lola raced in Formula One under the MasterCard Lola F1 Team banner. In 1998, the team managed to attract Damon Hill to drive for them. The gamble paid off, as Lola would score their only point in F1 at the French Grand Prix, when Hill finished in sixth place.
Spiralling debts meant that the team would fold at the end of the 1999 season and the companies assets were purchased by Irish businessman Martin Birrane.
