Katie Lea Winter (born 11th October 1997 in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany) is a german racing driver.

Early career

Winter started her racing career at age 14, in german karting series. Her results were average. During one of these events, she met Mathilde Thybes. The two girls became close friends and later shared a car for a few seasons in the Formula Ford EuroCup. The duo wasn't particularly impressive but showed progress, Winter scoring a win at the end of the 2015 season, saving her career as the girls were quickly running out of hard earned money. Zeroforce's team manager Natascha Zaugg, who was trying to enter the GT-R WC, decided to recruit Winter and Thybes. However, the team was placed on the reserve list and forced Katie to look for a race seat somewhere else.

International Formula Reject Challenge career

Katie signed with Clockwork Racing for the 2016 International Formula Reject Challenge season. She suffered of two brakes failures in the first two rounds, including a big crash in her first race. Her team mate Matt Brinson had an even bigger crash and ended up injured. She managed to qualify third at Pau before crashing out in the race. Clockwork Racing didn't score a point until the fourth round at Rockingham where Katie finished eighth in her heat race, qualifying to the final feature race where she finished in a low 13th.
