Cecil Vard

Cecil Vard (born 18th June, 1923 in Dún Laoghaire, died 1st August, 1987 in Dublin) was an Irish racing driver.

Vard first came to international prominence in 1951 when he came third overall in the Monte Carlo Rally driving a Jaguar Mark V.

In 1956, Vard took part in the Irish Grand Prix at Wicklow driving a privately-entered O.S.C.A. - finishing the race in 12th. The was to be Vard's sole Formula One entry.

Outside of motorsport, Vard was a furrier who owned a popular garments store on Dublin's Grafton Street up until 1982.
