British Formula One, formally known as the Aurora AFX British Formula One Championship due to title sponsorship from Aurora AFX, was a national series running to Formula One regulations that operated in the late 70s to the early 80s. Commonly known as the Aurora series due to it's sponsorship by the slot car manufacturer, the championship featured older Formula One equipment and drivers with insufficient budgets to find seats in the Formula One World Championship. Nevertheless, the series was known for it's great racing, and featured circuits deemed unsuitable for World Championship Grands Prix.
