The championship is due to be contested over fifteen rounds, the biggest calendar since the regulation changes in 2017, this was done to make the GRS expand more and make it more "legit" in the eyes of the fans and the FIA who wanted to expand the series.

Scoring system

Points were awarded to the top ten classified finishers in each event. In the manufacturers' championship, teams were eligible to nominate three crews to score points, but these points were only awarded to the top two classified finishers representing a manufacturer.
