| − | A new endurance format was introduced at the Rally of the Americas, Endurance Rally was instantly a hit and was tested throughout the rest of the season as the stages/racing was closer, the endurance rule was dropped for the first 3 rounds of the 2019 due to safety concerns, however the format was cancelled after this season and returned to normal FIA Rally rules meaning the rallies (if applicable) would follow the real life stages/timings of the WRC.

The 2021 Global Rally Series will be the forty-eighth season of the Global Rally Series, an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
Points were awarded to the top ten classified finishers in each event. In the manufacturers' championship, teams were eligible to nominate three crews to score points, but these points were only awarded to the top two classified finishers representing a manufacturer.
