− | The 2018 Elite Racing League season was the 3rd Elite Racing League season, competed over 12 races in 12 rounds. It is a non canon season (Like all Elite Racing League Seasons) Drivers and teams throughout the season battled for the Drivers and Manufacturer Championships. It started on the 18th March in the USA in Long Beach, California and ended on the 23rd September in Great Britain at Silverstone. It was simulated using Forza Motorsport 7. The defending Drivers Champion was Josh Smith and the Defending Manufacturers Champions were Chevrolet. The series continued its corporate relationship with IndyCar meaning, if they so wished, IndyCar drivers would be able to participate. Michelin remained as the Tyre Supplier. Shane Wray won the Drivers Championship at Road America and by the time the chequered flag waved at Silverstone, Will Power finished 2nd and Max Chilton finished 3rd in the championship both in what could be considered a very decisive championship victory due to the points gap between Wray and Power. Also Chevrolet won the Manufacturers Championship for a second time in a row after a solid performance in the final 2 rounds of the season. The field was reduced to just 2 manufacturers (Chevrolet and Honda) following long time manufacturer Toyota terminating their contract during the off season before pre season testing to focus on their World Endurance Championship and NASCAR programmes. | + | The 2019 Elite Racing League season is the 4th Elite Racing League season, competed over 12 races in 12 rounds.
