2006 Elite Racing League season
Previous: 2005 Next: 2007
The 2005 Elite Racing League season was the 3rd Elite Racing League season, competed over 10 races in 10 rounds. It is a non canon season (Like all Elite Racing League Seasons.) Drivers and teams throughout the season battled for the Drivers and Manufacturer Championships. It started on the 26th March in Miami, Florida at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and ended on the 10th September in Joilet, Illinois at Chicagoland Speedway. It was simulated using IndyCar Series 2005. Between this season and the 2009 season the series acted as an IndyCar support series meaning IndyCar drivers could (and did) participate to improve track knowledge and experience. This seasons calendar was the first schedule to have 10 races. The series also was the first to support all oval races in the 2006 IndyCar season (minus the Indianapolis 500 and the race at The Milwaukee Mile.)
