Revision as of 19:10, 26 April 2017
The 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup season was the 56th season of professional stock car racing in the United States, the 33rd modern-era Cup series season, and the first season with NEXTEL as the series title sponsor. Matt Kenseth returned in the #17 Roush Racing Ford to defend his Cup title. The season would also see the total manufacturer count reduced to three, as Pontiac left the series.
