The race was won by Jonothon Hunter for Brian McGuire Racing after all main competition, including both Thistles and B&S Fabrications Marches, retired from the race. Mike Wilds finished second after a race ruined by traffic, with unknown Soviet driver Ivan Kobylyansky taking the final spot on the podium.
