The 1965 Elite Racing League season was the 6th season of the FIA's Formula One motor racing support series (the series would remain a support series until 1997.) The Drivers Championship was won by Jo Bonnier driving for Ferrari to become the first back to back champion since Jack Brabham in 1960 and 1961, Ferrari won the Constructors Championship for the third time. Both championships were decided in the final race in Argentina at the Buenos Aries circuit.
Season Review
The European Grand Prix at Aintree was removed from the calendar as the track was shortened and was deemed too short by the FIA for a full Grand Prix after testing only saw lap times of around 30 seconds at the track.
