Jorge Alberto Daponte (born 5 June 1923 in Buenos Aires, died 9 March 1963 in Buenos Aires) was an Argentine racing driver. A businessman primarily, he mostly competed in Formula Libre races in Argentina. In 1954, he appeared in various non-championship Formula 1 races, including in Europe, as well as the 1955 Singapore Grand Prix. He was driving the car that killed engineer and mechanic Enrico Platé in an accident in Buenos Aires in 1954. Daponte died in mysterious circumstances at the age of 39, possibly as a result of suicide.
