Marcos Marcia
Marcos Marcia Velazquez (born 27th July 1997, Arcos de la Frontera, Spain), is a Spanish racing driver.
Career
Early career
Despite growing up very close to the Circuito de Jerez, Marcos displayed no interest in racing until his parents took him karting when he was 7. After winning the race, he continued karting infrequently until he was 12, at which point he contested his first full karting season. He then steadily progressed through the ranks until taking the Spanish Under-18 Karting title in 2014, which brought him to the attention of Plus One's driver development program, which he quickly signed for.
2015
Marcos kicked off his car racing career driving for Plus One's F3RWRS team, but was initially outpaced by his teammate, Franc Piscine, and after 2 meetings he was replaced by Thomas Yorke. He was then moved across to serve as a reserve driver for the Plus One-backed Scuderia Vittore team in Rejects of LFS.
Marcos had his first outing for the team in a race very quickly, as regular driver Andrea Bianchi was forced to sit out Westhill. He immediately impressed, finishing 2nd in his heat. He ran as high as 6th in the feature race before a couple of collisions relegated him to 14th; still, when Bianchi left RoLFS entirely later in the season, Marcos returned to the driver's seat. He struggled to perform as well as he did in Westhill, however, failing to qualify for the feature races at Fern Bay and Aston. He made the cut at the Kyoto Ring, however, and only barely missed out on a point.
2016
Marcos was to be resigned to Scuderia Vittore for 2016 in RoLFS' successor, the International Formula Reject Challenge, but after having a management fall-out with Plus One, the team opted for Calvin Brooks instead. He instead signed to drive in the series for Racing Team Solvalou.
