The following is a list of fatal accidents that have claimed the life of a driver in canon. This list also includes fatal accidents that take place outside of canon series.

1958	Giulio Cabianca	O.S.C.A. F158	Template:FRA Reims, France	Formula One	Slid on an oil slick from Umberto Magioli's car, then struck a stray wheel from the wreckage of José Froilán González's Rob Walker Lotus. This caused the O.S.C.A. to swerve at high speed into the earth bank on the other side of the road, striking it head on and also launching over it, with the car landing in a nearby farm. Cabianca was thrown out of his car in the accident, and suffered major head and neck trauma, which resulted in him being pronounced dead.

The Jaguar was then struck by the Ferrari of Bruce Kessler causing both cars to burst into flames. Brussin perished immediately whereas Kessler sustained extensive burns.
1966	Francesco Fausti	Maserati Tipo 61	Sicily, Italy	Targa Florio	Car slipped off the road during a thunderstorm.
1967	Template:BEL Georges Berger	Porsche 911	Nürburgring, Germany	Marathon de la Route	Car dug into a ravine and burst into flames.
1976	Template:AUT Niki Lauda	Ferrari 312T	Bikernieki Circuit, Riga, Soviet Union	Formula One	Made contact with Vittorio Brambilla's right rear, being flown up into the air just before the braking point. The Ferrari went straight on and made contact with the wall lining the track head-on. Lauda was pronounced dead after several hours of attempted resuscitation at the nearby hospital.

1991	Ukyo Katayama	Template:GBR Lola T90	Template:FRA Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans, France	Formula 3000	Vaulted over the back of Neil McEwan's car into catch-fencing at 160mph, car disintegrated on impact. Pronounced dead at the scene.
2013	Template:GBR Dave McFaste	Template:GBR FAT-HART FAT01	Shanghai, China	F1RWRS	Struck the wall at high speed, his head colliding with an unknown object. Died from a cerebral haemorrhage later that evening.
2015	Nobushige Fukuda	Template:GBR Scaven S15	Kyoto Ring, Japan	RoLFS	Pitched into a roll by Tristan Jung before being struck by Tanner Jason.
2019	Jaropolk Petrovich (Leonhard von Gottorp)	Template:GBR Lola B05/52	Killarney Motor Racing Complex, South Africa	Africa Racing League	Suffered a stroke at the wheel and colliding with the rear of Salva Al-Bashir at full speed.
