François Migault

François Migault (born 4th December, 1944 in Le Mans, France, died 29th January, 2012 in Le Mans, France) was a French racing driver most famous for his appearances in Formula One.

Formula One

1976: Wolf-Williams

After making his debut in the early 1970s, Migault found himself at the Williams team by 1976. He would have a stable if unremarkable start to the season, not scoring any points until the seventh race of the season - taking a fifth place in the Soviet Grand Prix. This would be followed up by a pair of sixth place finishes in France and Great Britain.

Migault's run of consecutive points finished would be halted in the German Grand Prix, where he collided with a spinning Emerson Fittipaldi - breaking one of his ankles, causing him to miss the next four races. He'd return with a seventh place at the United States Grand Prix before a career-best third place in the season-ending Japanese Grand Prix. Migault would finish the season in fourteenth overall.

1977: Fittipaldi

With a change of ownership at Williams, Migault found himself out of a drive with the British team so he joined the Brazilian Copersucar Team Fittipaldi squad for the 1977 season.
