Oreca (Organisation Exploitation Compétition Automobiles) is a French racing team, founded in 1973 and run by Hugues de Chaunac, former team manager of F1 team AGS.
A very competent team in the International F3000 series (winning both the drivers' and teams' championships in 1989), Oreca bought the Benetton team and joined Formula One in 1990 in a collaboration with Footwork Express Co., Ltd., a Japanese logistics company which was involved in motorsport at that time. The team was therefore known as Footwork Team Oreca.
After leaving Formula One in the mid-1990's, the team has concentrated on running sports cars and GT cars.
