The ARWS New South Wales Grand Prix is a race on the AutoReject World Series calendar. It has been held for two seperate periods, the first from 2011 to 2012 at the Eastern Creek Raceway, and the second from 2016 to present at the Mount Panorama Circuit.
History
The race was introduced to the F1RWRS calendar in 2011, as the series looking to expand it's scope after a successful first year of competition. Opting to expand in the series' then-home region, 4 rounds were held in Australia, the existing Australian Grand Prix being joined by the New South Wales and Tasman Grand Prix, along with the Surfers SuperPrix. Mount Panorama circuit replaced Eastern Creek raceway as the venue for the Australian Grand Prix, the Sydney track instead playing host to the new for 2011 New South Wales Grand Prix.
Upon Daniel Prieto's takeover of F1RWRS in 2013, the New South Wales Grand Prix was dropped as Eastern Creek Raceway was not deemed a sutiable venue for F1RWRS competition. The race at Adelaide would continue to be known as the Tasman Grand Prix until 2016, when a desire by the F1RWRS Commission to be more geographically accurate led to the Tasman Grand Prix being renamed to the Australian Grand Prix. Mount Panorama, having played host to the Australian Grand Prix since 2011, became the new venue of the New South Wales Grand Prix, an arrangement that remains to this date.
