2017-18: AutoReject 2.0
After positive tests for Nurminen Racing Engineering, the Finnish outfit promptly signed up Donnelly for the 2017 AutoReject 2.0 Europe season. Donnelly struggled to get used to the new Dallara AR2/17 chassis and managed 16th in the standings, with a 2nd place finish at Zandvoort the highlight of his year.
Sticking with the team for 2018, Donnelly looked in imperious form in pre-season testing, and scored in six consecutive races at the start of the season. However, the middle portion of the season was incredibly difficult for the British driver, and incidents meant that Donnelly scored points in only one of the next five rounds, managing to win in the Dutch feature race. Donnelly finished strongly in the final round, taking solid results to claim 6th in the championship.
