The 2021 Global Rally Series will be the forty-eighth season of the Global Rally Series, an auto racing championship recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

Drivers and Manufacturers

Toyota will enter the series replacing Mitsubishi and Hyundai will return for the first time since the regulation changes in 2016 (their last appearance was 2015)- Hyundai and Toyota received three driver slots due to a merge of Hyundai and Toyota's GRS and WRC factory teams. Peugeot are a factory team and will also receive three slots.

Changes

• Sebastien Ogier stayed with the new Toyota team due to the merge of GRS/WRC teams.
• Shane Wray moved to Hyundai from Ford after falling down the order and Ford's inconsistencies.
• Sebastien Loeb moved to Hyundai due to the merge.

Calendar

The championship is due to be contested over fifteen rounds, the biggest calendar since the regulation changes in 2017, this was done to make the GRS expand more and make it more "legit" in the eyes of the fans and the FIA who wanted to expand the series.

Changes

• Template:TUR The Rally of Turkey was due to return in 2019 but got cancelled, a deal was finally made for 2021.
• Several rallies changed dates
• The Rally of Canada debuted for the first time.
• Template:FRA To celebrate Loeb and Ogier being in the series, a special Rally de France was held replacing the Rally Catalunya de Espana because of this the Rally of Finland was pushed forward 2 weeks.
• The Rally of New Zealand returned.
• The Rally of Japan returned in a new April date.

Points were awarded to the top ten classified finishers in each event. In the manufacturers' championship, teams were eligible to nominate three crews to score points, but these points were only awarded to the top two classified finishers representing a manufacturer.
