Angelica Sophia Lopez (born 21 July 2000, in Mexico City) is a Mexican racing driver currently contracted to Peak Driver Talent, the driver management arm of the Peak Motorsport Group.
She drove for Peak Motorsport Canada in the 2017 AutoReject 2.0 North America season.
Career
Angelica first came on the motorsport scene in the Lupo GTI Championship, competing in the Spa non-championship event for John Deere Racing, a subsidiary of Peak. She finished 21st.
Peak managed to secure two post-season F1RDS (now AutoReject 2.0) tests for Angelica with British team V-Sport and Belgian outfit Octan Young Drivers. She finished 11th and 16th in the V-Sport test and 16th and 19th for OYD.
Angelica was to sign for OYD to compete in the 2017 AutoReject 2.0 season, but with the series splitting into two seasons, one in North America and one in Europe, Peak thought it best that she compete in North America, and so she will drive for their Canadian open-wheel team Peak Motorsport Canada in the 2017 AutoReject 2.0 North America season, alongside Canadian driver Dakota Summers. She would place 21st in the final driver standings.
Personal life
Angelica was born in Mexico City, but currently lives in Los Angeles as her family migrated there in 2004.
She is studying to become a dentist in between her motorsport commitments.
