The 1979 Brazilian Grand Prix was the second of the 1979 Formula One season. Callum McAllister took his second consecutive pole of the season, but could only manage 3rd on race day. Instead, Williams team-mate Jody Schekcter took his and Williams' first win and points of the year. Rene Arnoux finished on the podium for the first time this year.
