Drivers and teams throughout the season battled for the Drivers and Manufacturer Championships. It started on the 26th March in Miami, Florida at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and ended on the 10th September in Joilet, Illinois at Chicagoland Speedway. It was simulated using IndyCar Series 2005. Between this season and the 2009 season the series acted as an IndyCar support series meaning IndyCar drivers could (and did) participate to improve track knowledge and experience.
