Yuji Ide (born 21st January, 1975 in Saitama, Japan) is a Japanese racing driver best known for his appearances in Formula One, and for being the 2016 Siemens Ausdauer Reject Series Prototype champion.
Formula One
After three years as a test driver for the Minardi team, Ide would make his Formula One debut at the 2002 Japanese Grand Prix for the Prost Grand Prix team. He would finish the race in nineteenth place. He would then come back to Minardi as a test driver for 2003 and 2004. Ide returned to the Formula One grid in 2006 for Super Aguri as he took a pair of 17th place finishes in Japan and China.
Ide would make an unexpected return to the F1 grid in the 2013 with Canon WilliamsF1 alongside Nico Rosberg. Although he wasn't able to match his teammate on pace, Ide was a key member of the team on their way to fourth in the constructor's standings, with Ide taking a best finish of fourth in the Japanese and European Grands Prix.
