The Bikernieki Circuit is a permanent motor racing venue located in Riga, Latvia, the country's only permanent racing facility. As part of the Soviet Union, the venue hosted the Soviet Grand Prix from 1976 onwards. However, the first Grand Prix would be marred with tragedy, as reigning world champion Niki Lauda was tragically killed after a collision at turn 6.
