The 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship is a motor racing championship for Formula One cars it is the 73rd running of the Formula One World Championship. The championship is recognised by the governing body of international motorsport, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. The championship is contested over a series of Grands Prix with drivers and teams competing for the titles of World Drivers' Champion and World Constructors' Champion respectively.
The following teams and drivers will participate in this season.
Changes
Renault have changed their name for this season to "Renault Sport F1 Racing" this will only be a team name though and not the name of their constructor entry
Williams have extended their deal with Mercedes until 2025 whilst the Red Bull programme run the last year on their Honda contracts.
Haas are yet to make any contract agreements on their 2022 constructor they look to announce their plans at the 2021 United States Grand Prix. They announced there that they had signed with Honda for the 2022 season.
Following years of controversy between the two: Rich Energy and Haas parted ways with Haas partnering up with a new sponsor, this being fuel supplier Shell. With this they now become Shell Fuel Haas F1 Team
