'''Gilberte Thirion''' (born January 8th, 1928 in Brussels, died May 21st, 2008 in Uccles, Belgium) was a Belgian racing driver known for her appearances in [[Formula One]].

The daughter of famous period race and rally driver Max Thirion, Gilberte began racing on road rallies in the early 1950s. By the mid-1950s, Thirion had moved into circuit racing and made her F1 debut in [[1956_Alternate_Formula_One_season|1956]]. Initially she entered with the Automobiles Deustch et Bonnet team but she soon moved to the more competitive [[Escuderia Hernandez]] outfit - with whom she returned with in [[1957_Alternate_Formula_One_season|1957]]. 

After her short jaunt in Formula One, Thirion moved into sportscars where she remained until the late 1960s.
